Feedly and Inoreader today

Feedly is an RSS reader with a free plan and three paid tiers: Pro, Pro+ and Enterprise. Its AI features, such as AI Feeds and AI noise muting, come with the Pro+ plan, and Enterprise adds team feeds and boards for companies.

Inoreader is an RSS reader and news monitoring tool for individuals and teams. Its free plan already covers everyday reading, and the Pro plan adds newsletters, websites without feeds, automation and AI summaries in one plan.

Where Feedly is the better choice

If AI Feeds are the reason you use Feedly, stay with Feedly. They come with its Pro+ plan, and Inoreader works differently. In Inoreader you decide what reaches you with keywords, filters and rules, and AI summarizes what arrives without choosing it for you.

Feedly also fits a company that already runs Feedly Enterprise. Enterprise holds up to 7,500 feeds per account and connects with Slack and Microsoft Teams, so a team that has built its work around those boards has less reason to move.

Where Inoreader does more

More on the free plan

Inoreader's free plan follows 150 feeds without ads, and you can search everything in your account. In Feedly, search starts with the Pro plan.

Newsletters and websites in Pro

With Inoreader Pro you get newsletter feeds and web feeds for sites that publish no RSS. In Feedly, both come with the more expensive Pro+ plan.

Rules that act for you

An Inoreader rule checks every new article against your conditions and tags it, saves it, notifies you or sends it to Slack, a webhook or Zapier. Pro includes 30 rules and 50 filters.

AI you control

Inoreader Intelligence summarizes an article, answers a question about it and lists the companies and people it mentions. You can also choose the AI platform it uses, from OpenAI, Mistral AI and Anthropic.

Team prices you can see

Inoreader for Teams starts at $44.99 a month for up to 3 members, and every member gets all Pro features. You do not need a sales call to find out what it costs.

How to move from Feedly to Inoreader

  1. Create a free Inoreader account. The free plan holds 150 feeds. If you follow more, you will need Pro.
  2. If you pay for Feedly, ask Feedly for a developer access token. Feedly sends the link to the email address of your Feedly account.
  3. In Inoreader, open Add feed, choose Import feeds and pick Feedly. Paste the token, and Inoreader imports your feeds, your folders and your Feedly tags with the articles in them.
  4. If you use the free Feedly plan, export an OPML file from Feedly instead. Then choose Import feeds in Inoreader and upload the file, and your folders come with it.
  5. Add a few filters and rules to the feeds you read most, so the busy ones show only what you care about.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Inoreader a good Feedly alternative?

For most people who read RSS feeds, yes. Inoreader's free plan follows 150 feeds with no ads and lets you search your feeds, and Pro adds newsletters, web feeds, rules, filters and AI summaries for $9.99 a month or $89.99 a year. Feedly is the better fit if you want its AI Feeds or already use Feedly Enterprise at work.

Can I import my Feedly feeds into Inoreader?

Yes. If you are on a paid Feedly plan, the Feedly import in Inoreader brings your feeds, your folders and your Feedly tags with the articles in them. It needs a Feedly developer access token, which Feedly gives only on its paid plans. On the free Feedly plan, export an OPML file from Feedly and import that instead, and your folders come with it.

Which is cheaper, Inoreader or Feedly?

Inoreader Pro costs $89.99 a year and follows up to 2,500 feeds. Feedly Pro+, the Feedly plan with the same feed limit, is listed at $8.25 a month billed annually, which is about $99 a year. See the pricing page for every Inoreader plan.

Is Inoreader free?

Yes. The free plan follows up to 150 feeds, shows no ads and includes search in your feeds, read later, folders and tags, and Reddit, YouTube and Google News feeds. Feedly's free plan follows up to 100 feeds in 3 folders.

Does Inoreader have AI features like Feedly?

Yes. With Pro, you can summarize any article, ask a question about it and see the companies, products and people it mentions. A rule can also summarize new articles as they arrive. Read more about Inoreader Intelligence.
